17 November 2019 - The Manor Hotel (Nyaung Shwe)

Urgent - important

Since yesterday 16 November, the Manor hotel in Nyaung Shwe (Inle) is closed, not accepting customers and not answering phone calls even if few days ago the management of the hotel was still accepting our reservations.
We do not know if it is a temporary situation or if the hotel is definitively closed.

Anyway, if you have booked a room, we recommend you to double-check very quickly with your travel agency (or online booking website) if your reservation is still valid.

For our Ananda travel's customer, we have already proceed with backup booking and we will contact them tomorrow by email to inform about the new booking and situation.
If you are one of our customers, do not be worried. All rooms for every body have been booked by security in an other hotel.

22 Septembre 2019 - Indigo's inaugural flight from Kolkata to Yangon

India Air carrier Indigo made its inaugural daily flight from Kolkata to Yangon in Airbus A320.
Flight is arriving in Yangon at 14h30 and in Kolkata at 16h30.

23 Octobre 2019 - Crossing India - Myanmar Border.

Good News !

It is again possible to cross the India border (by foot or car) to enter Myanmar AND to exist to an other check point border (airport or land border).
For car crossing, you still need a special permit that takes at least 4 weeks to obtain...
Anyway, good news !

22 Septembre 2019 - Indigo's inaugural flight from Kolkata to Yangon

India Air carrier Indigo made its inaugural daily flight from Kolkata to Yangon in Airbus A320.
Flight is arriving in Yangon at 14h30 and in Kolkata at 16h30.

23rd August 2019 - Direct Flight Yangon - Phnom Penh

JC International Airlines is starting thrice weekly direct flights using A320 (Aribus), between Yangon and Phnom Penh (Cambodia).
Flights are scheduled Monday, Thrusday, Saturday.
JC Internatioanl airlines is also planning direct flight to Mandalay, starting in December.

8 August 2019 - Trip to Mogok in January 2020.

Our trip to Mogok the 30th January 2020 with a French/English gemologist is confirm.

21st of July - Direct flight Yangon Hangzhou

Myanmar Airways International (MAI) has launched a direct flight between Yangon and Hangzhou, every Friday on Airbus A319. MAI will fly direct to Hangzhou from Yangon and Mandalay.

9 juillet 2019 - Bagan on world heritage Unesco list.

A very good news for Bagan.
Bagan is now listed on the world Heritage list by Unesco.
Bagan is finaly recognized as an exceptionnal cultural site, but also, this entry will help to protect Bagan from illegal construction or abusive new developpment.

24 june 2019 - New direct flight between Yangon and Shanghai.

China Eastern Airlines launches its new Shanghai Yangon direct flights, thrice weekly starting from 18 June (using Airbus A320)

20 june 2019 - New procedure for visa on arrival.

Italian, Spanish, Swiss, German, Australian and Russian tourists with ordinary passports will be granted visa on arrival at the airport of Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw, starting 1st October 2019. Duration :30 days (no extension, no over stay), cost will be 50 USD. Purpose : only tourism. Be aware that the Immigration may refuse to deliver a visa at the airport. It is not because you can have it, that you will always have it... (especially if you are not really doing only tourism....)

9 june 2019 - New Hot air balloon company in Bagan.

STT ballooning is a new company that will operate hot air balloon in Bagan for the coming winter season. We will have in total 4 hot air balloon companies in Bagan : Balloon Over Bagan, Oriental Ballooning, Golden Eagle and the new one STT. STT will propose a "Platinum" service with small balloon (8 pax) and "Classic" service with 12 to 16 pax per Balloon.

26th March 2019 - Mahamuni pagode entrance fee

You have now to pay 5 000 kyats for the entrance of the Mahamuni pagoda in Mandalay. It is not any more included in Mandalay zone fees.

6th February 2019 - Mogok Daw Nan Gyi pagoda

8th January 2019 - Flight Yangon Chengdu

National Airlines have started the 28th December a thrice weekly flight between Yangon and Chengdu (china).

7th January 2019 - Renovation of the golden rock

We have learnt today that the golden rock will probably be renovated (new gold leaves) from mid-January to end of March.
The pagoda (the golden rock) will then be under scaffoldings.

6 January 2019 - Yangon Pathein flight

Myanmar national airways is opening a new air connection between Yangon and Pathein (from Pathein, you are 1 hour away by car from Ngwe Saung and Chaung Tha beach). Direct flight will only take 40 minutes, every Monday, Tuesday, Saturday (compare to 4 hours by car).

3rd January 2019 - Mogok group tour - new tour date

We are proposing an additional date for a tour in Mogok.
Departure from Mandalay the 30th of March and back to Mandalay the 2nd of April evening.
