10 December 2018 - Direct flight between Yangon and Pucket

We had today the confirmation that Myanmar National Airline will start the 18th of December operating direct flight between Yangon and Pucket.
Flights are scheduled 3 times per week, Tuesday, Friday, Sunday.
Very good news.

16 novembre 2018 - Sichuan Airlines


Sichuan Airlines have started the 13 november a new flight between Yangon and Xian. It will operate 3 times per week with Airbus A 320.
This is the 29th international destination operating from Yangon Airport.

12 September 2018 : No more Immigration form for tourists.

Since yesterday, 12th of September, the tourists arriving or departing from Myanmar do not need to fill an immigration form with the hotel adress, passport number....
It is part of a new package of regulations to increase tourist arrival in Myanmar.

4 September : Yangon Mandalay road is open

Two way Traffic have been restored on the Yangon Mandalay highway at the damage bridge located miles 165. The National road N°1 is also fully open
with no flooding (the water level in the river is totally normal).

You may have some flooding area near Taungoo due to heavy rain

29-August 2018 : Roads Yangon Mandalay closed

The highway between Yangon and Mandalay have been closed today at the miles 165. A bridge have been damaged by floods
An irrigation dawn had burst and the water have damaged the bridge structure. We do not know when the road will be open again.
The old national road is also closed because of the water flood. The road could be open again soon.
At today, both road and highway to Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw are closed.

16 August 2018 : New India Myanmar border post

Good news, again !
It is now also possible to cross the border between India and Myanmar at a new border post : eedhorda (Myanmar - Etat Chin) /Zowkhawtar (Inde - mizoran).
You can cross by foot without any special authorization and you can leave Myanmar by Yangon or any other border post.
Be aware that the roads in this area, in rainy saison are extremely bad (real 4x4 car totally indispensable), travelling by bus can take days....

9 August 2018 : Tamu-Morah (India - Myanmar border)

Good news !
It is now again possible to cross the India Myanamr border (on foot) without permit AND to go out at an other check point (like Yangon, or Mandalay). No need to cross again at India border as before.
If you want to come in Myanmar with your own car, you need a special permit (and a guide).

21st Julyt 2018 : FMI Air

FMI Air, a domestic Myanmar airline, has stopped yesterday 20th of July its operation.
FMI AIr was flying from Yangon to Nay Pyi Taw, Dawei, Mergui, Kawthaung.
It is again an other airline to stop its operation in Myanmar.

We have seen recently a lof of private site, with ridiculously high prices, trying to propose E-visa on line.

19 April 2018 : E visa Express

Starting 1st April 2018, there is a new procedure for the online E-visa. You get "Express" E-visa in 24h, even during public holiday, or during week-end. You just need to pay 56 USD instead of the regular 50 USD for the normal speed procedure. The Express E-visa is only for tourist, not for business visa.

11 April 2018 : Probable re-opening of Mogok for tourist


Following the very short opening of Mogok for the 800 years of the city, the Mandalay local governement is requesting to the central governement in Nay Pyi Taw that tourists are allowed to travel to Mogok.
So far, it is still closed by we can open that it will open soon.
