Well decorated, chic, totally sound proof (even near the road), big.

Restaurant : Very very good restaurant, perfect afternoon tea with wonderful chocolate cake.

Emplacement : Down Town, near the harbour.

Comments : A very unique hotel in Yangon and one of the famous hotel in Asia, member of the Leading hotels of the World.
The hotel has been fully renovated in the 90's, it is now a very nice, chic place to stay with the old Bristish atmosphere. Some quite famous guest have stayed at the Strand such as, Lord MountBatten, Rudyard Kipling, le Prince Edward, David Rockefeller, Georges Orwell and even Sir Mick Jagger.
New commercial policy makes it much more affordable than before, rooms are bigger than Governor's, you have a very nice spa.
A good place to stay if the garden is not important for you (and the swimming pool),
if you can not stay , go for the afternoon tea or the bar (Friday night..)
