From Kalaw to Painnebin village in the Shan mountain
day return
Walking time : 4 hours of walk - small hills
Best time to come : October to january - correct in February - very dry and hot in March-April-May - slippering during the monson (but doable).

After your breakfast ( 8:00 am ) departure from your hotel by car. Drive about( 5 kilometer) to junction of trekking route. Leave from car and climb down from small mountain. Within (30 minutes) you may arrive in a pine trees forest. After walk under the Pine trees you will see the cheroot leaf and Orange trees garden. Some of the garden have one or two houses, inhabitants are from Danu ethnic group. From junction to Painnebin village you will walk about 2:00 hrs. The village Painnebin is composed of Palaung people. The village elevation is around 1300 meter above sea level. The village has a long house of old style Palaung races. The long house have six or eight Palaung families which are staying together. Most of the houses are modernized, some are made by brick or block stones. All of the Palaung people plant cheroot leaf and tea leaf garden. Lunch at one of the family house. You will get some rest after lunch before coming back to the junction by the same way. |
