Food and aid distribution in Nyaung Pin Thar:
We just came back from the delta area Sunday evening and we did our biggest food and aid distribution since 9th May. Again thank you very much to all the people who sent us money. We have distributed more than 3 tons of rice, 1 200 litres of water , 200 plastic sheets for roof, 10 bags of clothes.
Again thank you all.
Today was a very strange day, probably because it was the second Sunday after the cyclone. We saw more than 200 trucks, pick up and private cars on the road to Khungyangone and Dedaye.
Unfortunately, distribution was not organised at all, but at least, quantity of food and aid have been distributed. For what we know, the situation have been the same to Bogalé and Laputta, a lot of private compagnies and myanmar people have distributed help on the road.(as we have said previously, it is nice to have so many helps, but it so desorganized than you are not sure that it is correctly done, we prefer as much as possible organise our food distribution with local Myanmar Red Cross team - very professional - so we can distribute in calm and with name list).
First in the morning, we rent local boat to reach isolated farms or villages in flooded area. We have asked again to local Myanmar Red Cross team to come with us.
In the afternoon, we went by car to Dedaye (a village on the main cyclone path after Khungyangone) to distribute help and food. We saw a big army tent camp, but we did our distribution near a monastery with the help of the head of the monastery.
Main problem is not to reach by car or truck Bogale (Bokkale), Lapputa or Dedaye but to reach all the isolated houses, farms and small villages in the flooded area.
It is going to be very difficult as you have thousands of small water way in the delta, and you can only go by small (very small) local boat.
