Young "Samanera " in the north of the Shan State

Young samanera in a the valley of Pindaya (Shan State).
Traditionaly Burmese men to have been at least one
time samanera or monk in their life. The title of samanera is not
linked to the aged of the person but its degree of observance of the Buddhist
precepts and of the monastic rules (Vinaya).
