Choose your hotel in Pyay (Prome) Burma - Myanmar

The choice is rather simple in Pyay as the gaps of quality between the hotels is big. For us the ranking is the one below and you will adjust yourself with your budget.

1 - Mingalar Garden hotel: 3 stars, very very well, clean, quiet, nice.
2 - Htun hotel: take only the new rooms. Very quiet, beautiful garden for in the evening.
3 - Sweet garden hotel: "2 stars", take the deluxe room first. Very quiet and outside Pyay.
4 - Smile hotel: 2 stars (room on the court), clean hotel with big room. Avoid rooms on the street (very noisy).
5 - Myat hotel guest house.
6 - Yoma Hotel hardly acceptable especially for the price. Completely moldy room in humid season. Let's hope that the direction is going to renovate this hotel. To use only in emergency, with an enormous discount.

In Pyay, it is often recommended to book in advance, especially if one arrives at the end of afternoon. The hotels are often fully booked, mainly by Burmese people. Pyay is an important crossroads and a lot of Burmese stay in Pyay for the evening on their way to Bagan, Yangon or Ngapali.

Mingalar Garden hotel

Rank: 3 stars, very good quality.
By far the best hotel in Pyay and one of the best in Myanmar hotel. Very quiet, very charming, huge private parc, private lake. The best choice in Pyay.

Myat hotel

Rank : 1 star, very good guest house
A small guest house hotel in a very quiet street of Pyay. Our favourite place for low budget people. Rooms and bathroom (common) are very clean.

Htun

Rank : 2 star, quiet place
The hotel is located near the bus station, a little difficult to find. The garden is big, with a small swimming pool. The renovated rooms are very clean. It is a good choice in Pyay, the place is relaxing.

Smile hotel

Rank : 1 star, acceptable.
Located along the Pyay Bagan road, the hotel is quite big. Rooms are clean but a little old. Rooms on the street are very very noisy. You can stay here if you do not find place in the others better hotels.

Sweet garden hotel

Rank : 1 star, acceptable.
Loacated at the south entrance of Pyay, the hotel is at the top of a hill, it is green and quiet. Rooms are in individual bungalows. Could be a lot of better with renovation and fresh paiting. Superior rooms are OK.

Yoma (royal) hotel

Rank : 1 star,
Located along the Pyay Yangon road. Rooms are in very bad condition, and the commom bathroom and toilets are very dirty (01-08-2004). Price is high, use only with a big discount and in emergency.
