Choose an hotel in Bagan (Myanmar Burma) ?

Bagan has a lot of small hotels and motels, and also some splendid hotels directly on the Irrawaddy river. Be carefull, because there is also a lot of "very average" hotel or even bad and for the same price or cheaper you can get very good motel, guest house. If you can, pamper yourself and take a suite along the Irrawaddy river or at a nice 4 stars hotels on site. All hotels on your website : Here Hotel in Bagan in march - April - May. It is very hot to extremely hot in Bagan in April and May, with very often temperature above 40 C° and up to 44 C° or more. Electricity is very scarce in Bagan, most of the hotels have generators but the small hotels (1, 2 and even 3 stars hotels) do not start the generator during day time, only after 5 or 6 PM. So it could be very very hot in your room. For these hot months, it could be a very good idea to put some extra money and to stay at a good 4**** hotel, or an hotel with a real swimming pool. How to visit Bagan The atmosphere in Bagan is unique and we had enjoyed years without visitors. Few recommandations : - Avoid the main pagodas for the sunset sunrise, it is overcrowded, so much that it is spoiling all the pleasure. Find your own nice place during the stay and come back for the evening. - Bike is probably the best way to discover Bagan but the site is huge and the weather is usually very hot. - Electric bike rental is now very very popular, you can discover in silence Bagan, and not being exhausted biking under the sun. Probably now the best way. - Car : it is confortable, cool (air con), fast, but you will miss something if you do only car for visiting Bagan. - Horsecard : An other very nice way to discover Bagan (try one day with electric bike, and one day or half day with horse cart). Amazing Bagan golf : three stars It is a very good hotel and it is a very good news that the Amazing group is now in charge. Rooms are renovated (May 2009) and the new deluxe rooms are very nice. Prices are competitive, even if now (2015) the Zfreeti hotel (not so far) are offering cheaper rooms (but not the same size and general atmosphere). The only minor trouble is that you have too walk 500 meters to reach Nyaung Oo village, but then you are in the best part of the village, with a lot of small restaurants. So far, our customers feed back is very good. A hotel we strongly recommend.	Tharabar Gate hotel : Four stars One of our favorite hotel in Bagan. Perfectly located in Bagan , integrated in the Bagan architecture (the hotel is in brick and teak on only one level), the rooms are very spacious, in teak and marble, very beautiful swimming pool. Rooms are very confortables, Tharabar is a very good, no risk choice in Bagan, just lacking the view of the river (but at night you can not see the river anyway). A very recommandable choice.	Shwe Yee Pwin : three stars Shwe Yee Pwint hotel is located in a very quiet quarter of New Bagan, not far from the Sky Palace hotel. Hotel is brand new, with a nice garden, lot of trees (deluxe part), there is also a swimming pool and a small spa. Overall feeling is very good for all the hotel, and especially for the deluxe part. At the end, the Shwe Yee pwint is an hotel we recommend easily.	Areindmar hôtel : three stars The hotel is located is a very quiet quarter of new bagan. The Areindmar hotel has been renovated and now managed by the team of Tharabar Gate hotel and to be honnest, they did a very good job. It is really nice, very good feeling and atmosphere, very confortable room. There is also a nice swimming pool, always very welcome in Bagan, weather is so hot. We really recommend this hotel.

Yar Khin thar hotel : three stars The Yar Khin Thar is a good hotel very well located in the Nyaung oo village. Entrance does not look very good, but inside, rooms and garden are nicen and there is now a swimming pool. Very good deluxe room, very quiet, one of our favourite hotel for this price and range. Very good localisation, very near to a lot of small restaurants. We really recommand the deluxe room.	Sakura Thyripytsaya : three stars The Sakura is perfectly located in old Bagan, facing the sunset above the river, the Sakura is a very good and charming3 stars hotel with new renovated River Side suite. Amazing. Deluxe rooms are a little expensive for the quality (need renovation compare to Tharabar Gate, especially the garden view), but the overall atmosphere is very charming, very pleasant. If you do not stay at the hotel, comme for a sunset drink or diner	Thanzin Garden : three stars The Thanzin hotel little far from Bagan (the hotel is at New Bagan), it is nevertheless one of the best hotel of New Bagan. Rooms (especially the deluxe) are quite big, confortable, you have a nice swimming pool also near the pagodas. A good choice.	Sky Palace : three stars The Sky palace is located in a quiet area of New Bagan. Rooms are more than acceptable, not huge, but very correct (standard rooms are really simple). Swimming pool is a nice addition to the hotel. The Sky palace is not our favourite hotel in New Bagan, but it is a very correct choice anyway. We recommend the superior and the deluxe room.

New Park : next stars The New Park used to be our favourite hotel in this quarter more than 10 years ago, now after nice renovation and upgrade of the rooms, it is still one of our favourite in this quarter of Bagan (probably the best quarter to stay for budget hotel, it is the only place in Bagan with something to do in the evening). Prices are good, rooms very nicely renovated, quarter is very quiet, the hotel is perfectly located near many nice restaurants. A very good place to stay and we really recommend it , especially the junior and Superior Junior.	Bagan hotel : three stars The Bagan hotel is located along the shore of the Irrawaddy river, it is one of the most charming hotel in Bagan, with a beautiful and big garden, Bagan style bungalow and a very relaxing diner view on the river. Unfortunately management was very very weak and changing. Deluxe and superior rooms can be quiet noisy when early morning customers are leavin orarriving. If possibl,try the suite on the rivers, very nice and very quiet	Treasure hotel : three stars Good 3 stars hotel located in New Bagan (a little far), opened in April 2005. Everything you can expect from a 3star hotel, nice room and bathroom (marble), big swimming pool, spa etc....but it is an hotel that receive a lof of group, and may be less charming that other hotels in the area. Prices are little hight especially comparing with hotels in Bagan or Nyaung OO	Bawga Theidi : three stars The Bawga Theiddhi hotel is located in new Bagan, in a very quiet quarter, a little far from the road . It is a big hotel, on a big compound. The garden and the swimming pool are nice. Rooms are big, but decoration colour is questionnable... bathroom are average. Overall it is confortable, but modern and feeling was designed for group. The best rooms are the Villa Deluxe, quite nice and confortable.

Zfreeti hotel : Three stars Since its opening (2014), it is a success for the Zfreeti hotel, good localization, corrects prices, clean and confortable rooms, swimming pool, good feeling and atmosphere. Let's just hope that the next year prices remain competitives. A good choice.	Bagan Thandwe : three stars Hotel is clean, located in old Bagan, the huge garden is quiet, green and some places charming. The quality of the room is going to very average to very correct. (good) The best rooms are probably the deluxe river view, they are very well located, the view is really nice and some rooms are brand new. Superior rooms are overpriced for the quality. It is a good choice for the Deluxe river view. (but you pay for the view... during day time).		Crown prince hotel : two stars The crown prince hotel is a new modern hotel (mothel) located at the entrance of new bagan, near the Sky Palace hotel (next door). Nothing special about the hotel, typical looks like a motel with a parking near the room, and all the room at the ground floor. Nothing fancy but it is clean, modern, with confortable room. A good choice for this kind of hotel. Petit hôtel moderne tout neuf situé à l'entrée de New Bagan (dans une rue calme). L'hôtel n'est pas spécialement charmant mais c'eest propre, confortable avec des chambres calmes. Rien de bien amusant mais c'est efficace. Un bon choix dans ce type de d'hôtels et cette catégorie.

Oasis hôtel :three stars The Oasis hotel was previously a small guest house in Nyaung Oo village. It has been completely renovated and they did well. The overall feeling is very good, thanks also to the nice garden and the cozy feeling. The nice swimming pool helps also, and will be a very nice addition during the very hot months. Quarter is quiet and nice, full of restaurant, rooms are good but expensive compare to others hotels (albeit less charming). A good hotel, try to negociate the rooms fares.			Bagan Lodge : three -Four stars The Bagan lodge is a brand new hotel with very nice rooms (bungalow), on a huge compound in New Bagan. Overall the feeling is very good, a lot of space (it will be better in few years when all trees will be bigger). Very good quality hotel, expensive (obviously), very nice room, nice open space feeling...it is far from everything but it is a very good choice.
